Nona: Nona.

I: What do you do for a living?

N: Uh, customer service, telecommunications.

I: Is that your dream job?

N: No.

I: If you had something else to do for a living, what would it be?

N: Not working in corporate America, doing something that made a difference in the world.

 

Interviewer: And what do you do for a living?

Diane: I’m a registered nurse.

I: And is that your dream job?

D: No, I dream of flying F16 fighter jets. That would be my dream job, to be a pilot.

 

Interviewer: What do you do for a living?

Jennifer: I’m a hairdresser.

I: Is that your dream job?

J:  No.

I: What would your dream job be?

J: To have a restaurant. Be a chef.

I: Ah, so you must be a great cook.

J: I think so.

 

Interviewer: And what do you do for a living?

Mike: I own a construction company.

I: And is that your dream job?

M: No. Professional beach volleyball is my dream job.

 

I: And what do you do?

Jeanette: I’m a project manager.

I: And is that your dream job?

J:  Absolutely not. My dream job is being a full-time mum.

 

I: And what do you do for a living?

Tony: I work as a project manager in a software company.

I: And is that your dream job?

T: No. But I’m too old to be a football player now.

 

I: And what do you do for a living?

Ninfa: I’m a lawyer.

I: Is that your dream job?

N: No.

I: What would your dream job be if you had one?

N: I’d like to be an explorer. Discover other, unknown islands.

 

I: What do you do?

Gail: I’m a research nurse manager. I work in genetic research, I uh, run projects for an organisation.

I: Is that your dream job?

G: Uh, my dream job? No, not really! My dream job would be to help people live a healthy lifestyle.

 

I: What do you do down here?

Josh: Uh, I do sales and marketing for a company that repairs airplane parts.

I: Is that your dream job?

J: Uh, no.

I: What would be your dream job?

J: Owning a bar and a restaurant.

I: So you could drink?

J: Hahaha, yeah.

I: For free.

J: There you go.

 

I: What do you do?

Richard: I work for a chemical company.

I: And is that your dream job?

R: No.

I: What would be your dream job?

R: Owning a hamburger joint.

 

I: What do you do for a living?

Ryan: I’m a park ranger.

I: Awesome! That sounds like a dream job.

R: It is pretty cool. I really enjoy it and I really uh, am, uh, lucky to, you know, have a job in these days, but I also really love what I do, so, I’m very lucky.

 

I: What do you do for a job?

Najla: Uh, I’m a veterinarian.

I: Another cool job!

N: Yeah, we did well. I do enjoy it.

I: Is… is that your dream job?

N: Uh, it’s tough, uhm…

R: It’s close. It’s a lot of heart-wrenching. SO, it’s a little hard for me. But I do enjoy it, I don’t think I’d trade it in for anything else.

I: So, if you had a choice to do anything else, what would you do?

N: Maybe be a permanent volunteer, but I can’t afford that.

R: ???

N: Yeah. Working with wildlife rather than cats and dogs.

 

I: And what do you do for a living?

Sandy: I’m actually a tour guide here.

I: Really?

S: Yeah. I work for a company that works with Carnival ships and we take the people around. Today I’m doing a South Beach city tour, and some other days I do a, uh, Everglades tour. And then we take them to the airport, so it’s a lot of fun.

I: That sounds like a lot of fun. That sounds like a dream job!

S: It is. It’s only a couple of days per week and it works out perfectly.

 

I: And what do you do?

Angelina: I’m a bartender.

I: Oh, awesome! Is that your dream job?

A: Uh, no. I’m also an entrepreneur. So I have little, little side jobs that I do: graphic design, marketing, public relations, that kind of thing.

 

I: And what do you do for a living?

Jesus: I’m a teacher.

I: What do you teach?

J: I teach Spanish and mathematics in an elementary school.

I: Very good. Is this your dream job?

J: Yup. Yup. Yup.

I: Great.

 

I: And what do you do for a living?

Gail: I’m a journalist.

I: And is that your dream job?

G: It is, actually.
